Bitching again...

I want a new phone. I have been using a RAZR v.3 for ever now it seems and I am ready for something a little more cutting edge. The iPhone is arguably the coolest thing available in the US market right now (if you don't count unlocked phones they are using in Japan). Here is the problem.

I am a T-Mobile person. They have great coverage, in the US, Canada and especially in Europe. Not that I spend a lot of time in Canada or Europe, but I like when I am there, my phone works perfectly (and when I am on a T-Mo network, my calls are free). The problem is T-Mo doesn't have anything near as cutting edge as the iPhone. The RAZR was top of the line 3+ years ago when I got one, but not so much anymore. Verison is a shitty company with shitty customer service and knock-off phones like the iPhone, but not the iPhone. The best T-Mo has to offer is the Sidekick, which is just lame.

If I want an iPhone with all the functions working, I have to switch to ATT who is possibly the worst of all of them. Okay, second worst after NEXTEL with that fucking annoying 'beep beep' every time someone uses the walkie talkie function. I guess I'm pissed that all these manufacturing companies are signing exclusive deals with the cell companies hoping that if they have the hottest phones people will switch. Well, it's getting to the point where it might work on me. I have been reluctant to leave T-Mo because of the great service they offer. More of everything for less money and when you call customer service, a real people answers the phone. Try that with Verison or ATT.

I have written a letter to Apple about this, and have received no response. I read that Apple is planning to ditch the exclusive contract with ATT and offer their phone to all providers and if that is true, then I will be a happy person. With the next gen iPhone coming sometime this year, I really hope I don't have to ditch a great company for a shitty company just so I can have cutting edge tech.
