Jenny and I bought a pick-up truck yesterday. Jenny is turning 40 this year and I thought she should have a car that she got to pick out on her own. Not a car that she gets handed down. So we went to the Scion dealer nearby and looked at the Xb, drove it around and thought "hmm thats nice." She saw this black pick-up and wanted to drive that as well. Well, she loved it and we bought it. A 2002 Toyota Tundra. My wife is a hippy freak from Berkeley and so it was a little weird, but she loves it.
On a side note, I heard this guy talking on KROQ this morning and I thought what he is doing is really cool. Sustainable Dave is saving all his trash (non compostable) and keeping it in his basement for 1 full year to see what his impact is on the environment. You can read his blog at http://365daysoftrash.blogspot.com/. We recycle just about everything at home, but have never thought of doing this. Not that we have the kind of space required anyway. Anyway, check it out and think a little about our impact. I write this with a "new" V8 sitting in the driveway.
